The one I had cost $400 total but I paid on it every 2 weeks when I got paid. Hotel get spring mattress since they are cheap and very good for certain “activities” that many go to hotel for lol And you would go bankrupt for not understanding how Vietnamese and Asian sleeping habits are different from other places. Understood! Lol I had no idea y’all preferred hard mattresses. Being from America (Oregon for past 2 years) memory is my go to with a thick heavy comforter. I like the feeling of being hugged while asleep. W/o AC and hotter temps I can see how that wouldn’t translate here. It’s definitely affected my sleep since being here and overall mental state unlike westerners, most vietnamese and chinese prefer super hard matresses, almost like sleeping on a wooden board. When I go and visit my relatives in the country, I sleep on a wood slab under a mosquito net. It’s pretty easy waking up at 5am in the morning after that. Top quality mattresses are made from natural rubber, at least it’s what Vietnamese prefer, brands like Lien A and Kymdan are luxurious so their costs are at least 500$ for a queen size. I don’t think most hotels spend that much on mattresses.

You can consider getting a mattress topper to make the bed softer if you will be here a while, or if budget permits it consider nicer hotels (you can probably ask to check out the beds before committing).
