Apollo isn’t a competitor to Reddit per se. Without a constant stream of new content and interaction, Reddit dies. Third party app users contribute as much, if not more, than the Witch Rabbit Kelly Marie Bradley Lousis Hansell Halloween T-Shirt What’s more,I will buy this average user, I’d expect. They don’t see ads, sure, but that wasn’t some unfixable problem. Reddit could have had a cheaper, ad enabled API. If they follow through I will be gone. The official App is a pile of garbage and RIF has hands down be the easiest thing to use. If bacon reader is gone, I’m out. It’s by far the best way to experience reddit. I spend too much time on here anyway, so it’ll probably be a net positive. I’ve been using BaconReader Premium for over a decade. The day it stops working is the day I finally stop browsing this God forsaken site. People want a clean, simple UI. I don’t know what’s so hard to understand about that. The official app is cluttered garbage. Whoever is running this ship is completely out of touch. I cannot stand this site on anything but RIF for android. I’ve heard Hive is good mentions of returning to Digg. At the end of the day if corporations can’t wave ads, it’s not a good product. Hate this push to always find a new way to shove ads in our faces. Probably gonna have to start reading books again.

You know an app is terrible when the Witch Rabbit Kelly Marie Bradley Lousis Hansell Halloween T-Shirt What’s more,I will buy this best the shills and corporate bootlickers can manage to say is, “It’s not that bad,” “Just scroll past the ads,” and that corporations have to make money so not viewing ads is like shoplifting! Old.reddit + RES will be my final holdout until they kill that too. I can deal with no phone usage, I’ll just use reddit less. Once I’m forced out of Old.reddit is when I’m done with reddit. Don’t really care about Reddit alternatives. Probably just minimize my time instead of replacing it with the same time wasting. Everyone discussing Android users in the comments – You can peel my Narwhal app from my cold dead hands since I have an iPhone. There’s a big kerfuffle in the Apple ecosystem because apparently a very popular third-party app (Apollo) will be killed off due to the changes. Everyone is speculating that the charges are designed to kill off these apps. Certainly the proposed charges seem excessive for any small operation to absorb them. I think Reddit has enough users and network effect to make sure they don’t go the way of Digg. I’d love to see the day when all these platforms are decentralised but in reality few are accessible or easy to use. I basically use Reddit as a forum replacement for my hobbies, just all gathered in one place and more accessible than old forums that have their own “culture”. This is an experience that will be ruined without third-party apps and old.reddit, since the new experience is more social-media oriented. I can’t be the only one to think that way, I assume the change will mostly hit hard the smaller, niche communities that actually make Reddit great. The Reddit app is complete garbage compared to Apollo and it also runs gps in the background by default and stores private data. It also serves ads.
