Because with many of these languages, it’s not that there is nobody to speak them with but that people are discouraged from speaking them even if they know the Whitney Houston We Will Always Love You There Can Be Miracles When You Believe Signature Shirt in contrast I will get this language. For example, a group of children from a Bagheli-speaking region go to school together and become friends. They do not speak Bagheli with their teachers because the school is Hindi-medium. It’s also likely that the school forces students to only speak in Hindi/English while on school premises, so they don’t speak in Bagheli to each other either. Even if the school does not have such a rule, dialects are often seen as inferior to or less sophisticated than “official” languages, so there’s a significant social pressure not to use them for fear of being seen as dehati.

So even though all of these kids are perfectly capable of communicating in Bagheli and may even find it easier to do so because it’s their mother tongue, they slowly lose touch with the Whitney Houston We Will Always Love You There Can Be Miracles When You Believe Signature Shirt in contrast I will get this language because of external forces and may not even pass it down to the next generation.. If you want your dialect to live on, it’s the responsibility of the people using it to keep it. It’s not the government’s responsibility. There are dialects and languages around the world that don’t go extinct just because another language is encroaching and it’s because the people preserve it. I know what some arguments that will come up are and it boils down to India, despite priding itself on this image of education, doesn’t value education as much as people think and it’s especially in the languages. Indians are really bad in English, let alone other languages, and this extends inside India as well where they feel they need to know only one language or dialect. What I’m seeing here is that it should have been the OP’s responsibility to learn and maintain the family language or dialect, but he blames society and the government for his failing to maintain a family language or dialect.
