The complaint is that it is indentured servitude…. that’s why they call for a Living Wage, and ending to debt slavery, and student loans…. it’s the Vintage Hockey I’m Not Arguing I’m Just Explaining Why It Wasn’t A Penalty Shirt Apart from…,I will love this same thing. ea that works out to 8 bucks an hour….. Minimum wage is less than that and I hear no one crying indentured servitude there how is this not the other way around? The au pair should be getting 40K plus room and board and daycare should be 19K. Where is all the money for daycare going? Being an Au Pair isn’t a bad gig. When I was younger I was friends with a group of au pairs in my city. They were all in their early 20s and saw it as a way to live abroad in the US for a year. They didn’t get paid well, but they got free room and board, meals, a cell phone, and use of a car.

Yeah I was an au pair and it DEFINITELY can be exploitative but the Vintage Hockey I’m Not Arguing I’m Just Explaining Why It Wasn’t A Penalty Shirt Apart from…,I will love this program itself isn’t necessarily. The idea is that all of your expenses are paid (accommodation, food, transportation, healthcare etc….) so everything you earn is just for ‘fun’ or travel. Lots of girls I knew were able to travel lots, see new parts of the world for free etc… and explore a new culture. I worked in France and my cellphone, and language school were all paid for as well, and I worked 30ish hours (just a shitty split shift so an hour in the morning then all day while the kids were at school off) The idea is cultural exchange and child care, I ‘taught’ English as well, despite having no qualifications for that, and many au pairs come in with minimal child care experience and few qualifications, most are 18-22. So it is very ripe for exploitation, unfortunately and also girls that come from western countries tend to be favoured, as do native English speakers (aka get the better jobs).
