A poll a couple of years ago found that 50% of over 55s in the UK “often” or “always” tip a cab driver, compared to only 11% of 18-24s. Old people wouldn’t be doing that if tipping hadn’t been a thing for a very long time. I don’t “tip” can drivers but always let them keep the change whatever that might be from paying with notes.
