Feeding with toys helps cats exercise their body and mind and helps combat boredom which leads to stress and behavioural issues! Some cats develop anxious food seeking behaviour on scheduled meals, and indoor cats are always in need of more mental stimulation. Everyone wins. You can even control the Utah Utes Falcon Kaumatule 2023 NCAA Football shirt also I will do this difficulty of the toys yourself to control intake and make things even more challenging and interesting for the cat. These toys are best made DIY from boxes, egg cartons and cardboard TP rolls). Google image search “interactive feeding diy” for inspiration. And don’t be fooled, if my absolute dimwit one-braincell ginger cats can learn then so can yours. You can make things super easy and ramp it up after a while. I just left an egg carton full of kibble out and after 18 hours of begging they figured it out.

Dry food out at all times, canned food given every morning and then sometimes once or twice during the Utah Utes Falcon Kaumatule 2023 NCAA Football shirt also I will do this day if they are begging for it Please don’t free feed your cats dry food. It will make them sick! It makes me upset that people still think this is ok. If it’s too much effort for you to feed your cats two meals of wet food, then don’t have a cat. As someone who feeds my baby a scheduled 4x/day 80wet/20dry diet, I gotta say that every situation is different. Just like humans, one size doesn’t fit all. So many factors are involved: nutritional needs, scheduling/work factors, finances, local food availability, medical considerations, living situation, cat temperament, etc. It’s a bit of a tone deaf blanket statement to say people shouldn’t have cats if they don’t feed them the way you think they should. Always just left food out for my cats. Always premium food. When they learn it’s unlimited they ratio themselves. They do spend a lot of time outside working it off. I leave food out for my Bre. But only give her certain portion sizings and she will let me know when she is ready for her next one. She has always been very smart and eats only when she is hungry and not overeating. But some cats need more strict of a routine due to over eating! Depends on your kitty! I leave dry food out all of the time. I have a filtered water fountain too. I feed them canned food twice a day.
