So, I followed their tips, and my kitty became happier! I do the same, both my cats are at a healthy weight and kinda just pick at the food throughout the day. Recently though, since one of them had to have the remaining teeth she had removed, I’ve been having to feed her several times a day. I’ll leave out the dry food for the boy to pick at but because my girl won’t eat a whole “meal” in one sitting, I have give her little “snacks” of wet food throughout the day. Sometimes my boy gets the leftovers too! Omg your Kitty is so pretty! This is my Buddy I leave food out for him to graze whenever he’s hungry. Freeze dried chicken and wet food whenever he screams at me like I don’t feed him I don’t believe in scheduled feeding times. He eats when he’s hungry. That’s not for me to decide. Was just about to make this post! My vet told me to leave the food (dry food) out all day, I fill half a cup of dry food in my cats food bowl, he finishes it throughout the day. Another half cup for the night. He gets wet food twice a day (half half packet each time) and water is kept at 4 places throughout the house so he drinks enough water.

She told us cats eat as much as they need, they don’t eat more than their requirement, hence we keep it like that. Here’s his picture. He’s not obese either. Feeding times with alarms my cat knows it’s dinner time because my phone rings. I have pavloved my cat. I leave dry food out, but he refuses to eat it unless he has some wet food mixed in. About once a month we get him one. He devours it so fast! If I don’t space out his eating, he eats all of it in the morning and zips around meowing at me or trying to steal my food off my plate at my dinner time. One 1/3 cup of Purina indoor cat dry food in the morning like a half hour after I get up so he doesn’t associate waking me up with getting food, and another 1/3 cup around 8pm. And sometimes extra scoops in the middle of the day if I’m home and he’s acting like he wants it. I just found the perfect amount to give him to maintain his weight. I’ve heard never to give wet food or that’s all they’ll want to eat, and I’m too lazy to hassle with it. He loves his dry food, and won’t eat any human food, even salmon or chicken. He’ll eat cat treats though. But mostly I recommend interactive feeding with toys for my clients. Make ALL dry food available in toys 24/7, with only 2 exceptions: 1) One cat eats everything and causes the other to starve. 2) One cat needing prescription diets in a multiple cat household
