Meditation is different from concentration. I think it’s really lacking in humility to think that everyone would benefit from meditation. I forget the Us Army Ayers Kaserne Kirch-Goens 3rd Armored Division T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this name of the fallacy that could be occurring here but I think this is a bit like if someone says meditation isn’t benefiting them then some of the folks here would just look for means to invalidate whatever reason is given, or note the circumstances surrounding the individual as reason to ignore their reporting, even though no one can ever really experience what someone else is experiencing. But at the end of the day, we’re not Jehova’s witnesses, right? If someone doesn’t want to try to make meditation part of their lives, I’m not going to judge or try to change their minds… Similarly, zazen is quite the opposite to Tibetan visualization yet they are both rightfully called meditation. Meditation is not to have or to achieve something. It simply is to be aware of and that’s all. I think most problems are from trying to get/achieve/find something from meditation.
