I always thought this was a TV show cliche or something because I never had a woman actually ask me this until a few days ago. I was going to a ball with a date and I was at her place waiting for her to get changed. She wanted me to see 2 dresses. Now, I don’t know shit about dresses but Dress A was quite tight around her waist but loose at the Tow truck operator dead inside but jolly af skeleton Santa Christmas 2023 shirt moreover I love this top and bottom. She’s not fat at all but the dress wasn’t necessarily flattering. She put on both and we agreed that Dress B was the best. She got pissed that I agreed with her but, it’s the truth. AND, you obviously noticed it which is why you mentioned it in the first place. It didn’t even matter because dress B was so much better anyway. Such a pointless damn argument. When did conversations become such a minefield?You blame the dress not her body. You even say in the post she’s thin but the dress didn’t fit right.

We ask this when we put something on and it makes us feel a bit crap about ourselves. He got yelled at for saying the dress made her look fat. And if you don’t know not to say that, then you’re an idiot. We get taught as children, “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” Is telling someone, “Yeah, you look fat,” nice? No. Don’t say it. Could not agree more. If you don’t want to hear that you look fat in something, don’t ask. Also, why are so many women incapable of being able to tell if they look fat in something or not? I’m fat as hell, and I’ve never had a bit of trouble deciding if I look fat in something or not. I’m fat–I look fat in everything! I don’t have to ask a man! Jesus. Honestly, it can be hard to tell if something flatters your shape or not so having a 2nd or 3rd person available to tell you whether something looks good helps. Same, and when I do want his opinion I don’t ask if I look fat – first of all I know I am and secondly my husband would emphatically say I’m not fat. It’s better for me to ask if the outfit/ piece of clothing is flattering, then point out the reason for asking like what I’m feeling insecure about. I might sometimes also draw on the past like “Babes, what do you think of this skirt? Does it make my butt look good? Is it flattering or do I own an item of clothing that flatters me better/ could it be more flattering?” Not usually all at once, but that’s how I gauge his feelings on it.
