When I was at uni in Manchester, the Tis The Damn Season Football shirt Besides,I will do this driver of the 42 pulled into the Tesco car park at East Didsbury so he could go in and grab a meal deal. About 20 years ago I was on my usual bus home from college, about 5 minutes into the journey I felt my hair move. Thought it was my imagination then caught the reflection of the man behind me who was lent forward and had his hand on the back of my hair. He must have been just lightly touching it. I immediately stood up for some bizarre reason said ‘no thank you’ to him and went to sit at the front of the bus. He got off a few stops later and before me thankfully. A few years later I was in uni and in a group discussion about SA and violation of personal space in public places, and the impact it has on young women’s ability to access the city. A girl in the class who then became my friend discussed that she had got on a bus- only a few seats available and chose the one near the front next to a man who looked friendly enough. She said that after a few minutes of being on the bus she felt her jacket move and thought he was pick pocketing her when she glanced to look at his hands he was masturbating. She screamed at him asked for help and people looked at her like she was crazy. Bus driver asked her to get off. I knew this girl came from the same city as me so after class to strike up a conversation I said how sorry I was that it had happened to her. Chatted about the city and I realised it had happened on the same bus route I said ‘that number 1 bus seems to attract all the weirdos’ I told her about my very tame in comparison experience. After describing the man from each instance we came to the conclusion it was likely the same man on the same bus route. It was a few years between my hair been touched and him masturbating next to her. I felt super guilty that the hair touching May have been the start and if I’d reported him at the time he might not have had true opportunity to escalate to masturbating.

There’s one particular bus driver in my area who once asked me what colour my bedroom was (I’m a goth and I guess he was expecting it to be black). This was while he was smoking and I was waiting to get on. A few years prior I was sitting at the Tis The Damn Season Football shirt Besides,I will do this front of the bus and they did a driver change at one point and this same guy got on, pretended to be scared by me, and then some way into the journey, pulled over and asked me to adjust one of the mirrors outside. I did it because I was a chronic people pleaser, but looking back at these interactions I realise how creepy they were. Thank god I can drive now. In the early 90s, whilst waiting for a bus at the bus station I(male, then 11) was approached by 2 middle aged men asking if I knew any good places for a countryside walk nearby. I lived in a rural area and there were indeed some good places to walk near to where I live. They got on the bus with me and kept me engaged in casual conversation about how they were both schoolteachers and asking what I had been learning about at school etc. As we got near to their stop they became quite insistent that I get off the bus with them to make sure they didn’t accidentally go the wrong way. I refused because it was still a few stops before mine. They were quite pissed off that I wouldn’t go with them, but they did get off the bus at that stop. I remember them watching me as the bus pulled away. I only realised about 10 years later that I probably had a very lucky escape.
