Interesting… who is “management” in this case? Is anyone your direct superior or boss? Can you get in trouble for this? I once skipped a team building event because I was feeling unwell, I opted to do home office instead. I couldn’t reach my supervisor but I informed the Toronto Maple Leafs National Hockey League Est 1917 Ice Hockey Sports T-Shirt Additionally,I will love this person managing the event. My supervisor was so mad, because the company had paid another company a fee for me to attend that event. You don’t have to answer this question if it wasn’t mandatory. If it occurred during your lunch break, that is technically time off and it’s no one’s business what you do during that time. Even this email says you were “invited,” you simply declined the invite. “First – anything “important” should be scheduled during normal business hours. I do not include employee lunch hours as ‘normal business hours’, as due to the general load of IT work, quite often employees will have to use their lunch period to take care of personal issues.

Second – it was only “strongly” encouraged, NOT mandatory. By your own words, you’re now indicating it was actually MANDATORY. Poor communication on the Toronto Maple Leafs National Hockey League Est 1917 Ice Hockey Sports T-Shirt Additionally,I will love this part of management is not the fault of the employees. Also, same as above, anything MANDATORY should be scheduled during normal business hours, NOT during employee personal time. I realize management has spent the past few decades doing their best to erode hard won worker’s rights back to a point where they’re as non-existent as they were during the gilded age, but this is the 21st century, not the 19th — our society and culture have grown, perhaps management should consider doing the same.” As you know, I was hired to be a member of the IT team because of my technical expertise and background, and though it is extensive, regrettably I currently do not feel adequately trained or prepared to handle potentially sensitive social or sales interactions with clients outside of a technical role. Regarding your query, I was actively engaged in (valid work) which is vital to the delivery of said World Class Service. It was previously communicated to me (email/voicemail attached if available) that while these meetings are strongly encouraged, they were not mandatory. I would appreciate clarification on how to prioritize technical tasks directly related to my role, and overlapping sales/customer service tasks. In addition, to avoid further misunderstanding or potential customer dissatisfaction, I would like to take this as an opportunity to request sales/customer service training so I am empowered to exceed all expectations in this regard. This leads to a further inquiry about what the performance metrics for customer service tasks are and how they are compensated. Please advise.
