Listening to music that is happy with lovely lyrics. I genuinely find my whole brain shuts down if I try and listen to some of my old music from my emo era. Isolate myself in my room playing games, listening to music and playing bass or guitar. My best tracks come out of coping isolation. Distraction. My dad passed away recently and I’ve found being productive at home is giving me a sense of achievement which is helping with my grief. Slowly started talking about her again then yeah I’m fine now, it sucks shit still but I don’t spiral every time I think about it. I think some people get worried because of this idea of “talking about things helps process things” which is true for a lot of people and a lot of situations, there’s been situations that I’ve needed to talk about but yeah when it’s bad I just shut down that memory so I don’t spiral and I heal on my own.
