My center seems to have gone in the The Simpsons and Fallout Nuclear Family shirt Besides,I will do this opposite direction. VUS has been opening more campuses and they often ask me to sub at the new campuses while they get things started. The resources and materials seem to have become more developed, standardized, and challenging for the students. There’s even greater emphasis on teaching quality than before and many more writing tasks built into the curricula. I used to work for VUS. As far as I can tell, they’re spreading their resources thin and scamming the parents in different ways. Lol, thats exactly what happened at Apax before they crashed and burned. We doubled the number centers in the North where we were already the largest English center, expanded into Saigon is well. If your center or school is expanding rapidly I would be very cautious. If its anything like Apax they are trying to get more funds from investors by making the product more attractive but not having the Capital or profit margins to support it English as a prestigious language in Asia is declining . English centers as babysitting zones will do ok. There won’t be tremendous growth, but most centers will be able to break even.

If you wanna see scams go to the The Simpsons and Fallout Nuclear Family shirt Besides,I will do this low end “international schools” and Bilingual schools. The money is way bigger and so is the shamelessness of the owners running the scam. There are enough legitimate establishments that offer quality education and they are indeed thriving. I’ve been hearing about the issue being they don’t have enough teachers or classrooms to accept all the students who want to enroll. We cannot get into the habit of equating smaller and/or unprofessional centers with established centers with good curricula. It’s akin to comparing public schools to international schools. I work at one and we were told that re-enrollment rates have gone down a lot. My manager said it’s because the economy is bad but I’m sure there are other reasons too. The well off Viet families in my circle actually hire experienced credentialed local Viets to teach English, this is the new trend. Frankly, the best thing for Vietnam is for these English centers to die off.
