Honestly the The Golden Girls signatures shirt Besides,I will do this lack of immigration isn’t due to explicit anti-immigration laws in the way that Reddit seems to believe. I have three friends, one white, one black and one Indonesian, who all got their residency and moved there without much issue, certainly easier than it would have been had they been coming to America rather than vice versa. The issue like I’m sure others have said is language. If you want to live there and actually work, you HAVE to be fluent in Japanese because no employer is going to accommodate your native language. I would also say the work culture is hell. Seen a few vids of foreigners with jobs in japan and it is very stressful. I do not see many people wanting to go there just to be a corporate slave. But your friends will never become Japanese citizen, nor will their children. What immigration policy Japan has guarantees foreign-born residents never achieve equality with ethnic Japanese citizens.

If you had to choose another country to immigrate to, would you choose Japan? With its 996 work ideology? There are those that do and find real happiness, and that’s wonderful for them. I’m leaning right into that and fantasizing about how many trillions of Yen I need to turn an abandoned Japanese primary school into my own Ex-Machina house. I find it funny that I first found out about this issue from the The Golden Girls signatures shirt Besides,I will do this Japanese slice of life/comedy series Non Non Biyori. It’s about a small country town that has a combined elementary and middle school that only has 5 students total. All the kids are different grades, learning their individual subjects from booklets, and the gap between the two youngest students is 4 years. As I understand it, low birth rates are a huge part of the issue, but a greatly overlooked issue with Japanese demographics is the extreme growth of city populations in the last century. So many people have moved from the rural countryside into the rapidly expanding cities, that much of the countryside has been left virtually abandoned by most of the population, let alone children. That’s why you have the suburbs of Tokyo swallowing up land on all sides in the last 50 or so years, in large part because a huge chunk of the population moved to increasingly big cities.
