I live in South East and they have certai ly become rare over the The Chicago Cubs 144Th Anniversary 1876 2020 Thank You For The Memories Signatures Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this years use to see them all the time now rarely and I mean rarely These guys spend several years as a bug eating dead wood in a tree before spending only a few months attempting to find a mate. Quite often they will lose a leg or mandible. They only use their mandibles to wrestle other males, turning their adversary over onto their back. The surprising fly too, very badly and make a hell of a noise especially when the hit windows, walls basically anything in or around them. Used to see these a fair bit when I was a kid. After seeing your comment it made me think that its been a long time since I last saw one. Really sad but if I do then I will make sure I log it. Ahhh I wish I thought about logging my sightings. I’ve seen them only a couple of times. Last year one hovered around my head and wouldn’t leave me alone.

Wait these are endangered? When I dug some of my garden up and got rid of a old rotten tree log I had like 15 of these chilling in my garden in both spots. They make an impressive amount of noise when flying – I woke up to one flying around the The Chicago Cubs 144Th Anniversary 1876 2020 Thank You For The Memories Signatures Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this room at night a couple of years ago; I almost shat myself. They may be fatal, but at least they look warm and cuddly rather than the nightmarish insectoids found in ole Blighty! They spread their hard carapace and then make a nightmare inducing noise as they fly around like the gigantic bugs they are. Confronted by this unit this morning whilst surveying the garden. Never seen an irl Stag Beetle before, they’re both scary and magnificent. Sad seeing how many people have never see one. Used to be loads of them kicking around when I was a kid. I remember riding my bike when one hit me in the chest. Was as close as I’ve ever come to being assassinated, hurt like shit One of my fondest memories from my childhood is my dad teaching me how they’re harmless and I remember even picking them up. I’ve not seen one irl since Shame. They’re harmless and quite incredible. Even if you’re not a fan, what’s happening to insect populations is something that should concern you
