I do some varied and random jobs for a couple with an actual swimming pool in the Thank You Miguel Cabrera We Will Never Forget Watching You Play MLB Shirt But I will love this grond with insulation, is abour 3 metres by 5 metres long and 5, feet deep at one end and 3 and a half feet at the other end, (it really doesn’t matter that I’m mixing proper measurements with foreign measurements) It’s heated with an air sourced heat pump and it costs, £640 a month in the summer to pump the water around and heat it. Assume £200 in the first few days to heat it and once warm it’s simply a matter of maintaining the temperature in a non insulated rubber bag of water with no lid. I have no opinion on the pool but the weather up north was not exactly a million miles from down south last year it got to 40 in Cheshire Unless your garden is HUGE and you have the money for pimp, chemicals et al. I don’t see the point? Are you going to heat it? Because of not, you’ll be able to use it 2-4 weeks a year.

Get an inflatable hot tub for a fraction of the Thank You Miguel Cabrera We Will Never Forget Watching You Play MLB Shirt But I will love this price. Count how often it gets used, use that to make the decision next year Get her the pool, but make sure you document that you think it’s a bad idea. Then when something inevitably goes wrong with it you can tell her you told her so then spend the next few weeks on the sofa. We did the maintenence every day with the pump, checking the PH levels and chlorine etc, and didn’t actually change the water once filled. Sure you can’t swim in it, but it’s way better than a high sided paddling pool. We’d finish work and just pop in to bob about, chatting, reading, napping, drinking. It was just a lovely place to be. One of my siblings whose got a smaller garden and kids has actually asked to buy it off us and suggested we get a bigger one as our garden is bigger. We’ve had one for the last couple of years and we’re on the east coast of Scotland, so whether it’s warm enough really depends on whether you’re a big Jessie or not. What I would say though is that the round ones aren’t very space efficient. I sold ours at the end of last summer and plan to replace it with an oval / rectangular version instead. Literally good for like 2 weeks of the year. Expensive to run and a pain to maintain as a harsh winter with no maintenance will ruin it
