This is so true. I have chronic fatigue following cancer treatment and used to use up most of my leave taking days off when I knew I’d need a rest day – eg a Monday if we were doing something at the Texas Longhorns Big Bertha College Football Playoff 2024 Sugar Bowl Band Shirt in contrast I will get this weekend (such as visiting parents, not like I was out raving or anything! But anything over and above the norm really depletes my spoons) Or taking a full day off if had a hospital appointment, just so I wouldn’t have the stress of having to do that while going in and out of work, panicking about getting parking and getting back to the office afterwards etc. Now I work from home 4 days out of 5 and those things are so much better. Not commuting gives me extra sleep time, and if I need to do something during the day I just can. Since covid and work from home my employer has become more chilled about what hours we do, so if I’m having a rough day I can just start later (although we had flexi time previously, realistically everyone was at their desk by half eight, not least because you couldn’t get parked if you came in later! And you’d get raised eyebrows just because it was unusual, even if technically allowed) – now nobody cares!

This means that I now have more have more annual leave to take and so I’ve started to take a few full weeks here and there. Although those odd days were necessary for me previously, you’re so right in that they didn’t give me enough time to properly switch off and relax. Plus, no-one covers your work when you’re only off for a day, it’s just there waiting for you the Texas Longhorns Big Bertha College Football Playoff 2024 Sugar Bowl Band Shirt in contrast I will get this next day! If you’re of for a week you’ve a better chance of people picking a few things up for you! Hope it goes ok! I took a month off with personal stress and coming back was quite overwhelming. Took two days for me to get to speak to occupational health who put me on reduced hours, this did help and was far better than the 9 hour days I tried initially.
