Let the Teuvo Teravainen Finnish professional ice hockey forward for the Carolina Hurricanes T-Shirt and I love this whole system fail and give itself a hard reset. Teachers need to stop worrying about these inadequate admin, kids with chronic behavior issues, work overload. Only work your contracted hours. Education has become toxic with parents failing their children and teaching their kids to undermine authority and all these inadequate admin just want to please them so they don’t ruffle feathers or are scared to say no to anything. Kids aren’t up to their grade level academically, teachers need to stop worrying that they aren’t. It’ll either break the system and chaos will start when it’s their time to be adults or it’ll reset itself. Every year some administrator thinks they have the solution for more student engagement, yet they always fall short because they too do not have the capacity to keep up whatever program they “designed.” Btw, I’m in education, not on the teaching side, but on the info systems side. The toxic environment does not only permeate the classroom. It is the same on the board level. Employees always complaining, yet they still stay?

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say get rid of fluorescent lights. I’ve read stuff about their effect on kids and a connection to autism and even if it seems a little off the Teuvo Teravainen Finnish professional ice hockey forward for the Carolina Hurricanes T-Shirt and I love this wall, I say run with it. They say places with more natural light have lower rates of autism, and that the longer you can keep kids away from that type of lighting, the better it is for kids. Apparently babies are especially sensitive to the subtle flickering of the lights that are barely perceptible to adults. Seems like a small thing that could be very helpful. Follow up question: Is there a helpful role that technology can play in this? If so, how? (Aside from discouraging personal device use in class) Have nationwide NAEYC standards year round preschool for 3-5 year olds, with required parenting classes in early literacy and math lessons along with emotional regulation skills
