We can vastly increase efficiency. “But resources aren’t literally infinite” is obvious, uncontested, and also not relevant, since we were never going to scale to infinity the number of humans, the calories they eat, water they use, energy they use, steel they use, land they use, or anything else. “But we can’t grow infinite food” is obvious, but doesn’t mean we stop growing food now.
