I honestly don’t think we look at this issue the Taika waititI I’m a gay icon now our flag means death shirt Besides,I will do this right way. I have plenty of male friends who appreciate the opportunity to vent without advice. On the other hand, a lot of these gentlemen have no ability to listen back. I think the difference is that women have been socialized to be good listeners which is why they know not to interrupt you with unwanted advice. Guys know not to vent to their male friends, they’ll complain to their female relatives, partners and friends. Therefore, in my view, the issue is not that women have this vastly different communication habit. It’s that men need to learn to be better listeners for both their female and male relationships. I saw a woman that was the epitome of this. I stayed overnight a lot and would go over when she was getting home. She would vent for 1.5 – 2 hours straight about what happened in eight hours of work. Every. Night. She wanted me to marry her too quickly anyway without this big warning sign. Noped on outta there.

True for people who aren’t women too. One of the Taika waititI I’m a gay icon now our flag means death shirt Besides,I will do this best pieces of advice I’ve been given is asking “do you need someone to vent to or are you looking for my opinion on this? I’m here for whatever you need” Clears everything up, and it helps them know that you’re actually present during a stressful moment for them You’re soooo close. You’re alllllmost there. This is only half the answer! We don’t just want to rant, merely venting is not the goal. We want to vent and for you to attempt to understand our experience. If you go right into problem solving mode, you’re not listening. A lot of the solutions men offer for women’s problems may be effective solutions for men, but depending on the problem and the people involved, taking the effective approach for men would make things worse for us. We’re not actually stupid, we know how to resolve situations, we know how to ask for advice when we need it. We just want you to see us and have some empathy.
