I just watched it and it was an absolute mess. Sam Raimi needs to figure out a new way to stage scenes because referencing Evil Dead for the Stronger than the storm RBG shirt besides I will buy this millionth time is getting old (and yes, it has Bruce Campbell punching himself in the face). The whole thing was a tiresome muddle of exposition with some fights shoehorned in. Seems like it’s SUPER Sam Raimi, keeping the storyline streamlined and the runtime tight. Probably gonna be the cause for a lot of complaints. That and there being no real singular driving force of the movie from one character, which is common for Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man movies, but not at all how the MCU does things. Just the fact that it’s different. All other MCU movies have been a placemat for corporate control and seeing just how much money can be squeezed out of a movie (merch, profitable cameos to set up future films). So I’m just excited that it doesn’t seem to be more of the same. Danny Elfman? No hate on Elfman whatsoever, but I so very much wish Marvel would look to Zimmer, Jablonsky, Trapanese, Holkenborg.. any of the people responsible for my favorite scores.

To each their own… I think Elfman’s Batman and Spiderman themes are among the Stronger than the storm RBG shirt besides I will buy this catchiest in the superhero genre My main concern is their integration of What If concepts. I was put off by Sorcerer Supreme Strange in the trailer. Not really in the mood for literal Marvel Zombies and stuff. Conspiracy: the reviewers are intentionally scoring Strange lower, so that Raimi is removed from consideration for Spider-Man 4 since it will a Sony project and directly compete with the MCU. People blame Sam for Spiderman 3 mess?! Just look at Amazing Spiderman series , Venom and Morbius which were solely produced by Sony. Compared to Spiderman films co-produced with MCU, their qualities are way lower. It is crystal clear that it’s Sony who fucked up Spiderman 3, not Sam Raimi.
