No need to go overboard by paying them double. Just get them a bottle of wine or something. Thought that counts. We definitely give extra to our house cleaner during the holidays. But I wouldn’t be surprised if she lives in a nicer house than me because she charges $100/hr. Pay your double, and anyone else who wants to as well can. Your not going to be able to force them to pay their double, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it at all. Your roommate probably has no clue what their parents tip the housecleaner at Christmas, because normal people don’t brag about this. Tips at Christmas for the people who silently make your life better year round is VERY NORMAL and true generosity isn’t something you talk about to people who don’t need to know, you just do it. I’m not a house cleaner, but i do drive around and take care of people’s plants for them. the residences i go to are inhabited by very kind people and they always give cash for christmas. i appreciate it so much and i know your house cleaner would too! good looking out for people working a vastly under appreciated job OP.

I was married to a liar for years and it messed me up where I don’t trust anyone. Cut liars out of your life as early as you can. I understand. But it seems that people who never experienced a bad betrayal never understand how people like us feel. I still want love and companionship. I’m not willing to let these soulless creatures take that from me. So I keep putting it out there and see what sticks, but giving up is not an option. It let’s the psychopaths win… When you are fucked over enough the pain of going through that over an over is far worse then being alone. That’s why I’m super picky when it comes to the women I date. I’m also super observant how they treat others. I don’t think I’m special so I know I will be treated the same.
