Manager here: Ask them for quantifiable, measurable criteria that are under your control to achieve. None of this “when we’re comfortable” stuff. Don’t be confrontational, but confront them. A good boss will be able to give you a list of goals that *you* control (e.g. not company goals). A bad boss will basically dance around the Spooktober Pocket The Boys Halloween 2023 shirt besides I will buy this “when we’re comfortable” statement. In the second case, you’re likely being strung along and should view the new title as fodder for your next job search. Get it in writing. I think something important to add is a time frame. Put a fixed timeline on the Spooktober Pocket The Boys Halloween 2023 shirt besides I will buy this acting period, otherwise they will drag it forever. Otherwise you can decline the offer, if you don’t want to get strung along or want to force a decision. Bring in an action plan of what you would like to accomplish, make it reasonable and give them a hard date for you to accomplish your action plan. And by you sticking to your action plan they must then, at the given date, give you the raise. This way you have a goal for yourself and they are motivated to give you the raise. This will also help them “feel comfortable” with you stepping up as you will be showing them you are serious about the new responsibilities. In writing with head of HR. payroll, and whoever your direct boss would be. If theybarent willing, neither are you. As long as they agree on a fixed day evaluation I would accept. As the evaluation includes the raise if they evaluate as acceptable Take the new responsibility as a resume and skill builder. If they haven’t proposed within 6 months – start job hunting at the new level.
