Two? I’m using one of those Microsoft Basic Optical Mouse. 5 years still going strong. And I use it in gaming as well. If you usually treat yours well and have them last longer then great. But it’s no screen or cpu eh.. Sadly, not these days. A lot of the manufacturers are cheaping out on switches for stuff other than the main 2 buttons or going with rubber over woven cable covers. End result is gaming mice don’t last as long as they should, despite the left and right button’s often being said to last very high numbers of clicks. All because management want to make all the money and sink their reputation at the same time. Yes, but it’s late stage capitalism so you won’t find any manufacturers not doing this. One of them lowers the quality in the name of margin (doing such by innovation is long, long dead) and all the other companies go “yay! We can lower ours too!”.

Not always, logitech lagged in doing that shit for quite some time. But no, line must absolutely go up at all costs /sigh Oh well, eventually one of the Chinese/Taiwan manufacturers will notice the hole in the market and come up with something solid, if they aren’t working on it already. Meanwhile ASUS is still selling a mouse that you don’t need to resolder the left/right button switches for and looks easy to take apart for maintenance etc and comes with a woven cable as well. Just costs $200+, but hey, if it lasts and is easy to fix, that’s better than buying a new mouse every couple of years. I have a launch Logitech g502 that has lasted me til now with no issues, whilst I’ve known multiple people with the hero and light speed version of the g502 have the left or light click switch fail and need a resolder after less than two years of use.
