Honestly? Wait until you’re 21 and can have a fun bar experience with friends (assuming you’re in the Sojourner Could Speak Harriet Led So Sojourner Rosa Ruby Kamala shirt in other words I will buy this US). Yes, it’s a good idea to not start drinking especially if, as you said, you are afraid you’d get addicted to it. Besides, you already said you see the lifestyle and don’t want it, so why would you bother? You might as well save the considerable amount of money you would spend on it and instead spend your time/money doing something you enjoy. Socially, if people offer you a drink or people are ordering alcohol, order/ask for something else. If they press, tell them alcohol just isn’t your thing. If they continue to pressure you, tell them that you tend to have an addictive personality, and if there’s a chance you’d become addicted to it you’d rather not risk it. If they still try to pressure you even when they know you’re prone to addiction, then they don’t care about your well-being and you probably shouldn’t spend much more time with them.
