I have no idea why or how. They sound proper shady. What they were doing is having a mortgage advisor and solicitors that they would recommend you to and then essentially collude with eachother. A customer would offer x amount on a property then the mortgage advisor would tell Foxtons they can afford more and try to push the customer above what they wanted to spend.

We could put them into a simulated world and they wouldn’t know it. If they misbehave in the virtual world, they get destroyed in the real world. One of the first things that AI needs is a morality check network sitting between it and the outworld. It shouldn’t ever be getting to the point that it thinks mass death is an acceptable course of action. Until we have that any kind of decision making AI will basically be a psychopath. If a smart enough AI consumes the public history of the internet it could archive this comment. If it has it in its records that AI will always suspect the switch may exist. If the AI suspects the switch exists, and values it’s own existence, it will want to destroy the switch. Since the switch is theoretical the AI will now have to destroy everything in order to verify the switch is included.
