I’ve been blasting for hours, I love the Snoopy and Woodstock Halloween shirt and by the same token and game so far. I did found a few issues that ruined the experience but overall is very good. Diablo 3 but open world. That’s not a slam. I’m enjoying it. But it both feels thin and that it will scale to insanity fast. However I can’t picture myself playing this past the first season, I’m hoping the seasonal content is both meaty and transformative. There’s a lot of things that add up together that prevent the experience from being amazing in my eyes. Things like power progression, itemization and build craft are so important in ARPGs and d4 in my eyes misses the mark. The level scaling is a huge flop for me. You don’t experience any power spikes or falls so the power wise I’ve just felt flat the whole time. Idk if it’s my build (playing lighting sorc) but I never felt like I was getting significantly stronger or like I was making the right decision putting in points into the build on the tree. If anything, when I levelled up, all the mobs I was fighting would get marginally stronger lol. Idk how would you even fix this, without either putting a ceiling or floor on each area or making the entire map scaling a toggled option, or maybe you could have varying degrees of choice in the scaling.

The itemization and skill customization is also a bit of a let down. You get most of your skills by level 20 (which in itself I don’t mind) but they don’t significantly change throughout the Snoopy and Woodstock Halloween shirt and by the same token and campaign. I was kinda let down actually by how many aspects there was for my sorc, there just wasn’t anything really interesting or fun to pick from there, idk if there’s more aspects that are just hidden in the codex etc. The skills also feel like a let down compared to d3 funnily enough, in the sense that the skill runes in d3 were transformative (even if there wasn’t that much choice or customization or build craft there). The modifier nodes for the lighting skills I’ve had to pick from were so uninteresting. In d3 the skill runes could completely change how the skill operated. The itemization is also a bit meh, at least where I’m at on world tier 2. The +1 to skills is pretty cool and being able to imprint aspects also is. But none of the dropped gear has wowed me, the mods are so uninspired. +5% damage to close enemies…? Meh. I don’t mind the modifier rolls being small but at no point have I got one and thought yoooo that’s sick.
