This is a big one for me, I will always remember my mum lying in bed in huge amounts of pain with no medical options but to sit and wait to die over the simone susinna Classic T-Shirt also I will do this course of several weeks/months saying to the doctors “if I was the family dog everyone would agree that putting me to sleep is the only kind thing to do and that keeping me alive like this is an act of cruelty, so why are you making me do this?” She eventually died the exact way she didn’t want to, panicked and collapsed on her bedroom floor as my dad desperately but futilely tried to help her breathe. If you kept the family dog alive in that sort of pain for that long, you’d get sued by the SPCA for animal cruelty. All that suffering could be alleviated. But there are way too few (if any) palliative care centers and mobile services, people are referred too late, or shy away because they assume palliative = can’t do anything anymore.

People are scared to die under horrible conditions, and rightfully so. When there is good quality-of-life care available, treating all those symptoms, the simone susinna Classic T-Shirt also I will do this demand for assisted suicide goes down. But “just” having the option to say it’s enough now is reassuring too. No one should be forced to suffer. I am surprised nobody jumped on this. After seeing a lot suffering in my family from cancer, I cannot get over the fact humans are not allowed to decide for themselves when and how they want to die . Even in my country, where foreigners think we kill people like this constantly getting approval by law to end your suffering is a long road. Sadly The worst part is, it’s a global thing. And there are places where poverty is so rampant that illigalizing euthanasia basically means sentencing people/patients to prolonged suffering through no fault of their own. A city in my state was having a city cleanup, where they put stuff on their curb to send to the landfill, Fridges appliances couches etc. the city workers reminded everyone it was “illegal” to take these instead of letting the city workers pick them up.
