I don’t know if they ever stopped it but I’m pretty sure product that sits in the Shrek Merry Shrekmas Christmas shirt it is in the first place but back doesn’t sell even more so than product being in the wrong place or not organized… Fuck zoning. Yeah i worked at a grocery store prior to Walmart and we had people scheduled specifically to face/zone and it was all you would do all day aside from helping customers. Makes things look way better and keeps customers from bothering people who are busy stocking/picking/cashiering. I still don’t understand why I’m supposed to zone before I stock on ON? Wouldn’t it be easier/faster to zone after everything is stocked? We used to have closers for zoning and returns. That’s actually how I started. When they went to CAPS the idea is for each team to do a quick zone while you pack out. Also, anyone not Cap who works in the department is supposed to fix things as you see them. If you straighten 10 things as you walk down an aisle all day, it works fine. Trouble is that most people just walk by.

When I started at Walmart there was a handful of people, usually older women, who worked part time and zoned GM and grocery every night. Cap 2 is supposed to zone, pull down top stop and run pick carts. Guess who does that at my store? If you said cap 2 you’d be incorrect. it’s the Shrek Merry Shrekmas Christmas shirt it is in the first place but 3rd shift and we have a total of like 12 people on a good day The zoning team are the sales floor associates. That is supposed to be their main job outside 6 star and verifying overstock. However management screwed up and now have these underpaid employees doing all work BESIDES that We start our zone at 5:30 and are very done the entire store (the parts overnight is responsible for at least, food, dairy, paper, pets, chem, auto, hardware, middle aisle)
