Kind of ironic how you’ve made a post stating “why aren’t you enlightened yet” then basically told people in the Shohei Ohtani ’23 Mvp Retro Signature shirt so you should to go to store and get this comments to meditate out of their problems and and acting like you know better than them. I don’t see why you would make such a post when you’re certainly not enlightened yourself and then there’s this post that basically describes yourself lmao. Some people arrogantly believe others are wrong, and they should help them let go of their egos and feel happiness. What if I don’t believe others are wrong, yet I do wish to help them understand their egos, become more conscious and make the choices that bring more happiness? This is actually at the heart of a consistent meditation practice: you directly experience how the mind is never satisfied with the present moment as it is – there’s always an urge to fix something about it. And, that’s how we live because it’s easier to try and fix others instead of working with our own minds. So, we endlessly react with desire for what we like and aversion towards what we don’t like, and try to arrange experience to match those desires and aversions. According to the Buddhist monk rules, if a monk reports his own superior human state to an unordained person when it is factual, it is to be confessed. This rule is more about attainments (e.g. jhana, stream entry etc.) rather than about psychic powers. Buddha said that revealing attainments is like women showing their private parts for money. It can cause unnecessary attention until the laity doesn’t want to support other monks, and just pour all the donations to the (attained) ones For example the idea, that anyone should strive to “let go of their ego”. That’s a pretty new age (or maybe christian?) notion of things. I have not seen such an interpretation in buddhism. There, you try to see your ego as empty, which is a very different thing from trying to let it go of. It is true though that in some advanced meditation stages one of the key instruction is to let go of anything, i.e. any striving, any trying, any whatever. But that’s really not the same as trying to “let go of one’s ego”. It’s a specific meditation instruction to be applied at a specific stage in meditation.
Shohei Ohtani ’23 Mvp Retro Signature shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt
The second problem is the Shohei Ohtani ’23 Mvp Retro Signature shirt so you should to go to store and get this judgement from afar who, apparently, is supposedly a humble person with only little ego left. That’s just not how things work. The expectations of “humbleness” are telling much more about those having them than about those to whom they direct those expectations. If a person walks around telling them they are enlightened, then from this behavior alone we cannot derive any information about that person other than that they walk around telling they are enlightened. Particularly practitioners of tantra know that there are innumerable deities who do not at all satisfy your expectations of how the world is supposed to work. But tantra is not for everyone. I am well aware there are plenty of practitioners who are simply not psychologically ready for that vehicle. Even in Vajrayana. There are many Vajrayana practitioners in name only. In tantra, you are fighting your poisons with poison. This is not at all the same approach as trying to fight poison with an antidote. The samayas in that tradition are distinctly different from e.g. sutra buddhist schools. And they are again in dzogchen.
