I diagnosed myself with depression and anxiety. And saw a professional after who diagnosed me with CPTSD, severe depression and anxiety. and i am testing very high on some autism tests so now im on a horrible path to trying to afford that diagnosis for an adult which according my Kaiser Perminente … doesn’t fucking exsist.. so it’s a struggle rn for a lot of people. I don’t think people should self diagnose with out seeing a professional after they have suspicions cause obviously if you really think you have it you would fight to see a doctor who can help you. and yes i’m very aware CPTSD and Autism get confused but also are seen together in a lot of cases of child abuse and neglect As an autistic person (actually diagnosed) I 100% agree. Especially when they tell a story like “I’m so autistic/ocd/adhd/etc. because I do this quirky thing all the September 11th never forget always remember shirt and I love this time. I’m so weird and autistic/ocd/adhd/etc.” Not liking a certain food texture or have a system for your stuff that you don’t like messed up is not a diagnosis. This gets me too. My son is autistic, diagnosed at 4 years old. Young people think it’s cute to have a disorder of some kind. In the attempt to be different, they end up doing just what everyone else is doing. It’s understandable if they’re doing an act (like a drag show or standup comedy) but if that’s just the way they talk and text? hm. spend more time with my mom (she was diagnosed w cancer when I was 17 and passed when I was 18). don’t waste time going for a graphic design career because I hated that shit. try harder to get a drivers license. pester my parents to let me see a psychiatrist for my depression and adhd (which I didn’t know about til I was 22….I barely graduated high school and college was a nightmare). I’d start therapy so I’m not still dealing with this anxiety bullshit and I’d be real with my parents and also set my sights up for a career. Here I am at 31, started therapy at 24, still dealing with anxiety and trying to find a career. I know I can do it but it’s so fucking hard. Higher Highschool GPA, Immediately go to college, start my career a few decades earlier and not get into toxic relationships along the September 11th never forget always remember shirt and I love this way because I have already learned from those mistakes. Warn all of my guy friends about 3 very awful women, castrate 5 particularly reprehensible men, cut off my mother immediately, get into therapy and on meds ASAP and befriend, stay in the house on 3 specific days and fuck my daughter’s father but absolutely not trust or fall in love with him.
