Just to really drive home your point, this is already happening. Disabled people are already dying people don’t notice or care because they think suicide is a personal choice instead of the Santa King The Owl House shirt Furthermore, I will do this inevitable and obvious end result of being denied help for years. So many people commit suicide because their disability means they can’t work, which means they can’t afford proper nutrition or healthcare, which makes their disability worse, reducing their changes of finding a job and this spiral just keeps getting worse and worse til there’s nothing left to do but die. A person applies for disability and will almost 100% for sure get denied the first time (even if they have a degenerative disease and are, say confined to a wheelchair). At this point, it is advisable to get an attorney, although you can begin using one at any time (before or after this). This appeal is done in court.

(I’m not familiar with what happens for any future appeals. I believe if the Santa King The Owl House shirt Furthermore, I will do this judge denies you that you have one more appeal, and then if you are denied again, you have to start all over.) I just submitted my application. It will take 8-12 months before a get my first response denial. It takes about 14 months to hear back from an appeal. One of the things that goes on your application is the date that you “became disabled.” (This is fine if you were in an accident or something, but when you’ve been living with it forever/a long time/were born with it, it can be a little different. We went by the last time I worked full time, because, even though I’ve been dealing (at times coping) with this for most of my life, if you can work full-time/make more than their income limits (which are at, or slightly above the federal poverty limit), then you “are not disabled.” My date is March 2016. (Being optimistic here…) Once I finally get approved, I will get “back pay,” which is the amount of my monthly payments (an amount determined by my work credits – how much I’ve worked – since I first started paying in to SSI) for every month back to… when I became disabled, so, March 2016, right?
