I just can’t believe how absolutely MASSIVE the Russell Dickerson Merch Store 2023 Summer Tour shirt Apart from…,I will love this game world is. So much to do, so much to see. The content is contenting 🥹 Also class design is so good. I know some people are complaining about things not being “balanced”, but that doesn’t mean the classes aren’t fun. I’m having a blast on every single class – and I genuinely couldn’t say that was the case in D3 & even D2. Honestly zero remorse for going all in on this purchase. Lack of builds and skills. It feels like d3 and d2 had more skill to use. I’m basically using the same skill for many many levels. The world is absolutely massive. There is so much to do and go to, between main and side quests, dungeons, events, systems to explore and builds to test. Atmosphere is gritty and dark, and the superb sound design is a huge factor in making it so. I do enjoy the story so far. Nothing too special but it serves its purpose and I am curious how it will all unfold. Moment to moment gameplay feels good. Events are fun, having other players populating the world feels surprisingly ok.

On the Russell Dickerson Merch Store 2023 Summer Tour shirt Apart from…,I will love this other hand, the way monster leveling works takes away from a core aspect of the game. Leveling up, acquiring new skills and items should feel like a power spike. I never felt this so far though since mobs are getting stronger too. I am only lvl21 so far so let’s see how this evolves over time but so far there is something missing. Items feel ok, nothing special so far. UI is a bit lacking. It feels unnecessarily difficult to digest weapon information and understand if it’s better than current gear. The game is really awesome, and i kind of expected that after the betas i was able to participate in. Only thing i found out now, is that Barb is way harder, or my build sucks xD I like it, but trying to look at that objectively I think a lot of it is just nostalgia. Disclaimer: I just finished Act 3, so I know there’s a bit left yet. Also, most of the following is negative since those are the things that stand out. The graphics are good… mostly. There were a few cutscenes (especially involving Elias) where it looks like the graphics were from 2008 or something. The locked 30-fps cutscenes are painful, this could have felt a lot better even if it was locked at 60 fps. If it was a pre-rendered cutscene then sure, whatever. But it’s just regular in-game graphics; there’s no reason to not just use whatever our FPS cap is. Having started with D2 and also played D3, I expected a lot more very high-quality cutscenes (i.e. rendered rather than using in-game graphics).
