OTOH, if I see someone dressed up, walking with good posture, a look of purpose in their eyes, a crisp wardrobe and they happen to be covered in tattoos, it’s like a judgement multiplier in the Ric’Darious Farmer West Virginia Mountaineers vintage shirt But I will love this other direction. That this person must be really smart, successful and put together. I’m probably even a little intimidated at what a strong, successful person they must be. They have the disposable income and social stability to pursue body art without restraint. Cheap and trashy. Try showing up for a high-level executive position coveed in ink and guess what the interviewer’s immediate but well-hidden reaction will be. To say that is to accuse her of dual loyalty and is pretty racist. Imagine if a congressperson of Turkish descent said some racist shit about Armenians and was censured and then saying “they censured the only Turkish congressperson for representing their people” that would be considered so racist. She’s an American congress woman and she was elected to represent those who voted for her.
