If they ever make this a thing, sign me up. I don’t care which shift or area. Let me zone, move down topstock, and run go backs all day. I work in ap ops, I’m asked to go out and zone, we’ve had associates from other stores ask me why I’m out doing this because they’re ops people only deal with the Real women love football smart women love the Washington Redskins diamond heart shirt but in fact I love this clearance aisle Our second shift sales floor zones their areas and in apparel we zone as we go. Overnight only zones grocery, paper, Chem, and infants from 6-7 at my store At my store all of gm zones in a group from 5 -11 all gm side except som departments. Overnight zones the rest for two hours Our store actually tried this for a while. Had 4-5 people who were only supposed to zone. They ended up jacking around and talking the whole time so they gave up on it. I told our SM that if they ever hire someone to just work too stop and done lmk and she said “that’s supposed to be part of cap 1s job”. I had a department manager tell me I had to stay late to zone. Maybe once he told me to clock out and zone but I don’t remember but I’m saying this because it wouldn’t have been out of his realm of logic. I always gave him shit about it and left on time. He’d complain to the store manager about the attitude I gave him. I never heard anything about it from the store manager. After I left WM he later became an ASM and got fired anyway.

In reality the Real women love football smart women love the Washington Redskins diamond heart shirt but in fact I love this slowest people should be zoning exclusively. If you don’t like it, get faster. Every shitty stocker that stocks 1 pallet per shift can zone instead, and let the good workers keep working. Because that cost money. Do you want your job to be replaced with robots? Moral will improve or the beatings will continue. We have a zoning team for the GM side but they get pulled to OPD and to run freight so guess what doesn’t get done What I want to know is why at the deli we sell a small which is 8 ounces for .97 and a larger 16 ounces for 3.98. I just buy two smalls now Soo technically every shift is supposed to zone most stores just put it on ON so that the store can be nice and pretty first thing in the morning Because they don’t like people standing around so if there’s nothing to do at the moment in your department then they expect you to be zoning You would need a whole lot more than just 5 people to zone and maintain a whole store. I work in apparel and there are many days that even with 5 people in that one department zoning non-stop, it just isn’t going to happen. That’s what they had me doing when I started here 2 years ago. We were hired for regular positions but they had us doing zoning and the top stock for the first 3 or 4 months before they would “move us to our hired positions”. They never did. I switched positions on my own lol.
