This was just a discussion on another sub. Your roommate is probably that 1 person who is happy about getting pizza at work for a record profit year instead of a pay raise.

If she struggles, maybe you’re not paying her enough in general. She shouldn’t have to depend pn additional gifts and you’re coming across as a little self-righteous here… In many countries it’s standard for employers to pay an addition month or two’s salary in December, called the 13th or 14th month pay. It’s not a far-fetched idea. If his parents could afford cleaners for 40 years he should be able to afford a 15€ gift. Then that’s the fail. I have a late teen. They have worked service jobs and give their friends shit if they don’t too well. They know how to pay for a haircut and tip. And they still live at home. These people turned a grown ass adult out into the world who doesn’t know how to pay service workers appropriately. Therein lies the fail.
