Also, I try to pay their bonus the Private Party Access shirt in other words I will buy this end of November to help them through their holiday. My housekeeper has children so I usually add a stocking with little inexpensive items and candy for them. Dollar store is fabulous for that Same – we pay an extra “service” for Thanksgiving and Xmas. Cash buys extra food, gifts, etc. We also paid during Covid. I do one month for our housekeeper and for my employees along with a homemade candy basket one of the local businesses makes up. We have an unspoken rule that the current employees don’t tell any new ones because it’s fun to watch them get excited about it. Then we do 100 cash for mailpeople, trash people, and whoever else. We try to do something for our regular UPS and Fedex people but their schedule is so nuts around the holiday that we wind up giving them something in January when they are back on their normal route. It’s a joint effort. I buy a bunch of the money envelope Christmas cards and keep track of the list of people to give to and my husband orders the candy baskets and goes to the bank to get nice crispy money.

I do the Private Party Access shirt in other words I will buy this same thing for my massage therapist – Xmas bonus in early December equal to one session’s worth. And for our cleaners! As a housecleaner, most of our clients give us a Christmas bonus. It’s typically between $100-$200. Our best client gave us $2000. I grew up from a low income family. My mother was a house cleaner and each year we would always be surprised by the generosity some families would be. It made her feel like they truly cared her for. It’s hard labor and not an easy job. Without realizing it, you will be impacting that family. I know it did for me growing up! I remember they’d sometimes gift our entire family passes to visit the zoo or Legoland. If it weren’t for them, I don’t think I’d ever visit those parks with my family. I pay my house keeper double every Christmas. I do this for everyone, including my dog walker and massage therapist. I also hand make a card with a note. They all help keep me sane and I want to make sure they know I appreciate them. He sounds like a spoiled brat. Do the others agree with giving cash? You two/three/however many give the house cleaner cash and clearly designate it is from you for example, put it in a greeting card with your names signed.) And let the other guy give her shampoo. If he goes to Rituals he will probably spend at least 15 Euro and likely more, so if it’s money he’s worried about he’d be better off giving cash. I have a house cleaning business. Most of our clients give us a generous Christmas bonus each year. The amounts range from a couple hundred to about $1000. Most clients choose to gift about the same amount as they pay per cleaning. It is not an expectation that they pay it. We don’t ask them to pay it. The give us a gift to show us how much they appreciate our dedication and hard work all year. Just know that your cleaners will definitely appreciate you for remembering them.
