I have actually died from a medical standpoint, that is. I have a blood disorder that seriously impacted my liver. While waiting for a liver transplant, I became so ill that my kidneys stopped functioning, and I went into cardiac arrest. My heart stopped for almost 9 minutes. Even though my lungs were full of fluid and I couldn’t breathe, I wasn’t inhibited. (Probably could have sued but ultimately didn’t) I was in a comma for two months and was not stable enough to receive my transplant. so they kept me alive with dyalisis until the doctor made the decision that transplanting me was now or never. He took a chance and saved my life, I was only 31. I was placed in a medical comma for a couple of months, fought off a couple of serious lung infections, it was touch and go for months. I had to relearn how to breathe, move, walk, and even talk. After months of rehabilitation, I was discharged from the hospital, then spent 6 months recovering. The journey was extremely painful and equally terrifying. The near death experience changed my outlook on life immensely. I’ve never been happier or healthier. I can truly appreciate “the now” and living life in the moment rather than the past or future is so much easier. I’m not afraid to die per se, but admittedly, I do have a big fear of leaving behind my beautiful daughter. I have also experimented with LSD and shrooms a little and have had great experiences. There is nothing like such a close call to make me realize how amazing life truly is. Sorry so long, I kind of got away from myself, LOL.
