My grandparents are approaching 80 and also lived on a lake in MN just before moving back into town 2 years ago. Grandpa was a maintenance man for 3M and Grandma was a part time florist. Grandma has just never really understood why my family of 5 (I weld and my wife works retail) couldn’t vacation every year with them to Florida or Mexico or Arizona. After all, my aunt, who married into a funeral home family, they can afford multiple vacations a year. As for trying to get out of that field, I regularly get denied jobs because “you wont be taking calls and we aren’t sure if you’d enjoy that environment”. Your average call center has approximately 300 agents at any given time. Each supervisor handles approximately 30 agents. Each manager handles approximately 5 supervisors, and then you have a call center director.
