Absolutely not. He knows the routine and even wanders in ready at night to be given his treat ball and toys that I leave him. He gets let out when my husband gets up for work to have snuggles in the morning. Routine is best with cats so they know what is happening. I have a cat that lives in my basement because he’s an asshole to my other cat. I also was laid off a few months ago and don’t get to seem him as often as when I was working in my office. I felt like shit, but he’s still here and loves cuddles. I would pick mine up from the scruff of the neck ( gentle) and drop him off the side of the bed. Took two nights for him to get it.

Boy cat has always been very hyperactive and at night would be constantly (every 10 mins!) Up and yelling at us for attention then back on the floor and zoomies. Tried a few times but he was just too excited to let us sleep haha. Once we got into the routine of having bed kitty cuddles then a spoken cue “nanite time” they would start taking themselves off to bed. Girl kitty sleeps in the living room on a fluffy blanket and boy cat likes getting under the covers on the spare bed. They’re fine with it and happy. I throw mine out at 4am she can cry. She’s gonna learn not to jump on my stomach and give me a heart attack one day. It’s not the running around psychosis that bothers me. No not a bad cat mom at all. I encourage mine to sleep on my bed with me but that doesn’t work for everyone. He also tends to sleep through much of the night, so it isn’t too bad in terms of sudden onset crazy syndrome
