Oh gosh yes, the Normal is overrated shirt and I love this first is almost certainly going to be more comfortable to wear! I think part of the problem with trendier styles is brands who jump on the style and pump something out are not going to be putting as much thought into function. OP can probably find a more comfortable version of something like #2 but as-is, I wouldn’t buy it. Someone linked a leather that’s a useable No. 2 ish style! OP posted a 2 strap “classic” suede version as well. I wear a lot of heels people would question in terms of comfortability, but they make functional sense as far as “heels being functional because we like them/have to wear them occasionally” goes. Ooh, I’ll go look. Also, same. I feel like people will laugh at me for questioning any amount of shoe comfortability bc I will also go out dancing in 6 inch knee-highs Same!! People question me all the time, it’s quality & how the manufacturer/you manage the weight/posture distribution. Sure, height matters, you learn how to walk/move in them just the same as wearing your first pair of heels. I have 6” wood bottom stilettos, and thigh high boots that are fine, but have yet to find a classic kitten slingback that works for my narrow foot (VC made one but it very ironically looks cheap for them).

1 doesn’t look dated. Instead, it looks timeless imo. Am I old or something? I think 2 looks a bit ridiculous and unpractical. I don’t think it’s dated (yet) I think it’s just very comfortable in the Normal is overrated shirt and I love this fashion lexicon. Its been “now” for a while and it getting staid. It’s a shoe I see everywhere. Target, Walmart, Payless. It’s the “cheap fancy” shoe. Unpractical! That’s the comment I was looking for. 2 looks like it would be heavy as you walk, and those thin straps are not going to hold the shoe to your foot. It looks like a trip waiting to happen. 1 is dated. 2 is cute but these style of shoes are aggravating to wear, just a heads up. Your feet will be slipping all over the place. I own a similar pair, leather. Bc the strap in the front is thicker it is better bc thin straps lead to pain. The ankle is being held well & since this is a zipper it is easier to wear when in a rush. I liked 1 & 2 but couldn’t help but think that the front strap will be uncomfortable I have shoes like this one. They are surprisingly comfortable enough to wear all day and I’ve gotten many compliments on them. Elder Z, must agree with you here. Best example that’s on trend and wearable. Comment that the above was dated confused and hurt my brain, but I’ve always been a bit late to the trends. This is the perfect structural balance of version 2, and still very cute/classy for a lot of outfits. Edit: OP if you find suede toes holds your foot better and you’re not used to leather or don’t want it and don’t think a pad will fit/work for you, there’s nothing wrong with the suede linked as a stand alone since you didn’t mention if it’s for a specific outfit/event (you know your closet/ feet/ can ask again here or someone you know/ and personally I’m a fan of both suede and leather).
