Yes. It’s illegal to have your earphone on while riding or driving. I was fined for this back in 2014. I remember this vividly because it was my first traffic challan. I do take the bus when I have a full idea of where I’m going. Meaning take the bus to majestic. From majestic take the bus to where you are going. Also I said Uber but I meant rapido really. Uber if there’s someone else with me. Ubers are accurate..ola is a grey zone. Something will go wrong at some point. As for price, mostly I just stay at home. It’s just not worth it. The traffic on weekends kills any mood unless I can leave at some really odd hours to escape it. There’s no real alternative. I don’t want to walk 2-3 km for a bus only to end up not getting a seat because some aunty or old uncle wants it. Dont need maps, rather need to know major intersection points. the more you travel between areas, the more familiar you’ll be. Also a mental calculation of directions before starting any trip will help you reach destination event if you skip turns. One fun thing is see this a puzzle or maze. it so interesting traveling when you dont know where you are going to come out from. you explore new routes. All major roads in Bangalore have this one turn before the signal, which allows you to skip the signal and connect again after the signal or connect from a different route. the route might be slightly long but rather interesting.
