The way she describes it you get the Nice 20 years of 2003 2023 NCIS thank you for the memories signature shirt Additionally,I will love this impression she thinks she is so enlightened, like she came up with a thought that is so insightful that she and only a few other unknown geniuses before her have thought. English ease and utility absolutely cannot be matched by any other popular language out there. Easy, simple, works. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. However, I don’t think English speakers realize just how limited English is in transferring thought accurately. Yes, you can say what you want, but you simply cannot convey some of the finer things as you can with some other, “archaic” languages. I’m gonna give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that they are trying to say that Chinese is a logosyllabic language, and not that they mean symbols entirely.

I remember learning in college that the Nice 20 years of 2003 2023 NCIS thank you for the memories signature shirt Additionally,I will love this symbols are actually easier/faster for the brain to understand. When the brain reads english for example, it’s a multi step process; recognizing the individual letters, then putting them together to understand the word, then creating the image in your mind (for example, the word horse). In Chinese, there is one symbol for horse and the brain instantly pictures a horse upon seeing the symbol. The connections are faster. I don’t agree with this person at all. On a side note, check out how much work went into making Chinese work on a keyboard. They had to finesse the shit out of it. Now iirc Chinese eclipses English in the wpm a user can type. What a stupid post lol. Until very recently China has been completely fine using symbols. In fact, the only exception is typing so China went ahead and… made an alphabet. The study of how languages affects a culture is rather interesting, for example Mandarin is very precise language with identical words having the emphasis changed and the meaning changing with it. This does impact how the population thinks as your first language is the primary tool in how you think about things. Another example of this is German and it’s compound words, it’s a hyper logical language that has specific compounded words for things and concepts and it shows in the population.
