Not saying it doesn’t look nice but it’s definitely very casual! footwear is important – maybe get some breathable mules, or walkable sandals that aren’t just plain flip flops. Even in moderate/reasonable temps, I would never wear polyester unless it was blended with cotton and less than 50% of the material. I wore a long sleeve 100% polyester top in a 68 degree office and still sweat. it’s harder to look “nice” in denim cutoffs and a tank top. Not saying it doesn’t look nice but it’s definitely very casual! I wear something like this in the summer, and I think it can look pretty nice. My go-to outfit when it’s really hot is a tank top and “fancy” shorts. For example, I have an outfit that’s really similar to this:

Even a sheer button down or a linen layer is far too hot where I live, and dresses either give me chub rub if I have nothing underneath or swamp ass if I do. My strategy is two fold: 1. Make sure you’re wearing the cutest shorts and t-shirt you can. To me that’s shirts that fit well, mostly in neutrals, and either well-fitting, cuffed jean shorts or some fun patterned shorts. I make my own in really fun fabrics and even though I’m just wearing a black tank and simple shorts, my shorts have vibrant polka dots or a jungle motif or whatever and I look “dressed”. Obviously you would adjust this for your style, not everyone wants to rock “under the sea” shorts or whatever like my dorky ass. 2. Lean in to accessories! Jewelry (particularly earrings, as they don’t sit on your skin!), great sunglasses, hair accessories like headbands and clips, great shoes or a statement purse, any of these will make your outfit more complete. Again, maybe I’m just wearing a black tank and plain jean shorts, but I’ll braid a scarf into my hair (pretty and practical!), add some big acrylic earrings, a good quality purse and some cute sandals and I’m ready to go! Don’t fight the shorts and tee, lean in!
