These days, that stuff gets thrown around so much that I honestly don’t feel anything when someone throws that term around. In my experience that comes out any time you simply don’t agree or refuse to be taken advantage of. Same with calling someone a nazi, misogynist, homo- or transphobe, TERF, etc. People have overused those words when they simply mean “I don’t like you” to the New orleans saints the Peanuts Christmas 2023 Shirt moreover I love this point that it is meaningless and rarely put stock in someone calling someone else any of those things anymore. If people are looking, they find it… It’s easier to gaslight you than take responsibility for their own actions or lack of accountability. I also think people want to shift blame and still get attention, so becoming the victim keeps them in the spotlight while removing attention from their own actions. If you want to get technical you could say I wasn’t being racist because there is only one race. And that’s human. There’s different ethnicities though.

He said I wasn’t doing that to the white couple. They were eating ice cream from the shop next door and obviously were not going to be paying customers that day (tho I realize he lacked this insight). Came up to the front and yelled at me some more and everything, for doing something I’ve done thousands of times and train our staff to do.
