Asking many bigwig politicians in New York City what the Never underestimate an old man who loves baseball was born in april shirt and I will buy this cost of a brownstone in Brooklyn was a year or so ago, they were like “what, $80,000?” Politicians may know how much rent is, given that many are land lords, but they do not know what life is like for lower income and middle class folks. It’s the Hillary gif where she walks into that apartment and is visibly in disgust at the way this person lives. Being a federal representative puts you in already the top 10% of earners, house rep makes 171k per year. That person does not represent you anymore. They represent the rich and the businesses from where you live. meanwhile me and the 46 other people in my county on hold in front of me on the emergency rental assistance hotline be like ? And they’ve been in office for 40 years making millions from insider trading, so they don’t give a fuck whether you and I have anything to eat or not.

Also, think of one thing – any one thing – that the Never underestimate an old man who loves baseball was born in april shirt and I will buy this government set out to improve, make cheaper, solve, etc. “War on Drugs”, hunger, poverty, etc. Look at education and the massive debts people are taking on. Did government subsidies improve that, or make it worse? Real question how would we actually go about changing this? And how do we get congress people that represent us closer? Look, while I’m all for raising the min wage, this will do nothing to stop the cost of living. When I was in Seattle, the wage was raised to $15/ hour. But, the next thing that happened was the property management sent all tenets a letter stating that all rents will go up 38%. The property management company stated that because everyone was making more money, that they believed that reported incomes were not accurate so they required everyone to place in their new incomes once leases were up. From there, they will be raising the rents up accordingly. Also, everyone that was on government assistance were booted off for making double the fed min wage. Not sure if they fixed it now, but that cause an uproar. And those that were making more than $15, got no raises. So after a few years of this, everyone that got $15, is now still poor. We are back to square one at this point.
