They want to help and they take intuitive approaches to problems (just make it the law so that people have more money). It doesn’t work because the economy isn’t a static system and the participants aren’t like blocks on a board to be moved around. It’s a complex system based on a balance of finite resources and moving parts are people who act in ways you didn’t/couldn’t predict when you push a policy. I think its silly to double minimum wage country wide. Im all for raising it but 15 is excessive, this is coming from a guy who makes less then that. Making it 10 is much more reasonable. The problem isn’t a min wage. The problem is when you personally fail to speak up and ask for more or dont quit, or do not start your own business.

And yet we still need people to do them, and the people doing them deserve to be compensated sufficiently to be able to live comfortably for their efforts. ehhh…. “live comfortably” is quiet a broad statement… rent an apartment? yeah i guess… buy a home and raise a family? nah. I mean, this sub is dumb as bricks and skews super young. Of course they would distill economics down to “old people bad.” So how are young people supposed to break into politics? I’ve considered running in local elections to start but it seems so expensive. Please don’t insinuate I’m stupid. I’m asking a legitimate question – politics is expensive to break into and expecting a 35 or 40yo to be successful at higher level politics is kind of impossible.
