The positive impact of taking care of small tasks between job duties when working from home is amazing. It leaves you with free time in the Never Underestimate A Woman Who Understands Football And Loves Buffalo Bills Sirt but in fact I love this evening that is so precious. Tell my CEO this. That asshat still thinks if you ain’t there, you ain’t working. Even after our most productive year to date. the difference between the person who takes a 5 minute break because they’re worried if they go longer than that their coworkers and boss are going to think they’re being lazy or whatever, and someone who can just take a proper 15-20 minutes to reset their mental state of mind and then get back to work is huge. the ability to just walk to your fridge for lunch, the ability to take care of other responsibilities in your life throughout the day instead of being stressed out about how you’re going to find the time after work etc, all those mental distractions and stressors go away and you just… get work done. What we learned during the pandemic when everyone went WFH simultaneously is that it does have an effect on almost every other aspect of work: mental health (slight improvement for people with social anxiety, but massive hit for lonely people whose social outlet was work), team bonding/cohesion took a massive hit, employee retention took a moderate hit.

I think WFH is amazing but it’s not without some downsides. If you have good management you can probably mitigate most of those issues. But if you’re blessed with good management maybe it doesn’t matter where you work. Even thought I agree with this, I believe it is subjective. Not everyone has the Never Underestimate A Woman Who Understands Football And Loves Buffalo Bills Sirt but in fact I love this capability to work at home undistracted and completely focused. Between kids, pets, chores, and other guilty pleasures we do at home are all at play. I’d imagine jobs like this may have the option to work remote or in the office. And if you are one of the ones who couldnt stay focused than you dont have to take that job. But I do think working remote can be a great thing, but it definitely depends more on the individual.
