Jeez tell her to put it in writing. “Dont go to this particular church in your free time” sounds like instant lawsuit to me. Not in the Never Underestimate A Father Who Listens To Genesis Shirt What’s more,I will buy this catholic church or the orthodox denominations. But in most other churches women can have leadership roles. I’m in a lutheran church (there are lutheran churches who do not allow women to be priests). I wonder what the higher ups in the priesthood would think about those statements, maybe you should ask them for guidance… If this were a relationship, I’d say she’s controlling who you see. She’s removing your support system. So you become completely dependent on her. This trapping you in a cycle of abuse. Tell your boss to fuck off and mind her own business. Your free time is your free time! Report the meeting to HR and document everything. My old boss tried to tell us we couldn’t ride motorcycles. Pffffft, those of us with motorcycles started riding to work every day so he had to see it. Fuck off, you can’t tell us what we can and can’t do on our own time. It’s unfortunate that it happens, but it seems to be more than a little commonplace that people with any modicum of power in a church setting sooner or later start losing sight of the church being a place of worship to God, and start making it a place of worship to themselves. Back when I still went to church, the pastor began running off anyone who didn’t agree with his every whim or worship the ground he walked on. Several years later, he was caught having an affair with the head of the choir and was finally ran off himself. I’m hoping the best for you with finding a new gig, and not to worry, I’m sure your crazy control freak boss will dig her own grave in no time at all.
