Always show up 15 minutes early. I can’t believe someone is asking this question. But, yeah, early is better than on time and late is always bad. Stay 15 minutes past the My Spirit Is Unshakeable Screw Cancer shirt it is in the first place but time you’re supposed to leave. If you’re in corporate America play like the big boys. Get to know the old timers. So weak, I work 40 that’s what my salary is based upon. 5 minutes early or 5 minutes after is all I’m willing to give at this point in my career. Do you have any work that still needs to be done when you leave? It’s not about the amount of hours that you put in as long as you meet the required amount. If you finished all of your work, there is no point in just sitting around an extra hour or two that you’re not even getting paid to do. If anyone has a problem with that, you can tell them this as well. Doesn’t mean that you can just leave everyday at 5:30 just because your hours are up but you need to have an actual reason to stay extra. Staying for the sake of staying is pretty pointless and a waste of time. If you’re getting overtime pay, that might be different. Maybe ask your manager? I find that frank discussions about these sorts of things are normally the best. It might be that everyone else is slammed right now and pulling OT, in which case, unless you find a way to assist, there’s no expectation of you staying the same hours. You can frame it as being new and trying to fit in the culture of the company.

I’d advise against some of the My Spirit Is Unshakeable Screw Cancer shirt it is in the first place but other suggestions here. Dicking around to leave at a certain time or after certain people is usually pretty transparent and unhelpful. The only right answer is to ask your manager. Everyone here will have different opinions that may or may not apply to your company, work culture, or industry. Are you finishing all your work that needs to get done for the day when you are in the office? If so, just be there during your required times. No reason to stay longer just for the sake of being there. Talk to your manager, and see if your timing is appropriate. If you’re within your 90 days, you also may not be assigned to the same volume of projects/tasks as your coworkers, so they have a bit more work to do!
